Over many years of private practice, I've counseled teens with substance abuse problems and their families. Through this counseling, I became aware of a pattern. Even though each family's story was unique, every journey that started with a teen's experimentation with drugs and alcohol, advanced to abuse and addiction, and then resolved in recovery, followed a remarkably similar and predictable pattern.

Once I understood this pattern, I created a discreet, inexpensive, easy-to-use tool to support parents to take control of their own lives and the health of their family. This CD series offers a simple, step by step program to educate, empower, and support parents through the crisis of a child abusing drugs and alcohol.

My hope is that through their education about drug and alcohol addiction, parents will be empowered and inspired to take positive, consistent action. Action to heal their family, their community and the country as a whole.

I believe that through education, there will come a day when adolescent drug use will be something that can be talked about openly, honestly and with integrity. I believe that awareness is power. The more we are honest about this issue and face it with grace, love and integrity the better chance the next generation will have to prevent such a devastating pitfall.
